Job Description
Are you passionate about nature, conservation, and providing exceptional guest experiences in unique, remote settings? Adventure Canada is seeking a dedicated Eco-Tourism Lodge Assistant to join our team at one of our remote wilderness lodges. This is an incredible opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to live and work amidst Canada’s stunning natural landscapes. You will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the lodge, ensuring guests have a memorable and comfortable stay while upholding our eco-tourism principles. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone eager to start a career in adventure tourism and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of lodge operations, including guest services, housekeeping, and food service support.
- Welcome guests, assist with check-ins/outs, and provide information about the lodge and surrounding environment.
- Support the kitchen staff with meal preparation, serving, and dishwashing as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations, common areas, and facilities.
- Participate in guided eco-activities and excursions, ensuring guest safety and enjoyment.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks and report larger issues to management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines, promoting sustainable practices.
- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and staff.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Adaptability and resilience in a remote living and working environment.
- Basic first aid knowledge (certification preferred, but training can be provided).
- Passion for nature, conservation, and outdoor activities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or outdoor recreation is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and indigenous cultures.
- Food handler's certification.
- Wilderness First Aid certification.
