Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Educational Psychologist to join our student support services team. This pivotal role involves applying psychological principles to enhance learning, development, and well-being within our diverse student population. The Educational Psychologist will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored interventions, and provide expert consultation to students, faculty, and parents/guardians. A key aspect of this role is fostering an inclusive educational environment where every student can thrive. This position is open to qualified candidates requiring Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments to identify students' learning, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and support plans for students facing academic or personal challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, promoting emotional resilience and effective coping strategies.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and external agencies to create comprehensive support systems for students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of university-wide policies and programs aimed at promoting student well-being and academic success.
- Deliver training and workshops to staff and faculty on topics related to educational psychology, mental health, and inclusive practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with ethical guidelines and university policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in educational psychology.
Required Skills
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Educational Psychology or a closely related field.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Educational Psychologist (or eligibility for licensure in Florida).
- Proven experience in conducting psychoeducational assessments and developing intervention plans.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, learning theories, and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.
- Knowledge of relevant educational laws, policies, and ethical guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a university or higher education setting.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in a second language.
- Research experience in educational psychology or related fields.
