Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Façade Engineer to join our dynamic team in Concord, CA. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about innovative building envelopes and sustainable design. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects, from high-rise commercial buildings to cultural institutions, working alongside architects, structural engineers, and contractors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering analysis and design of building façade systems, including curtain walls, window walls, skylights, and cladding.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and hygrothermal analysis of façade components.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and reports for façade systems.
- Collaborate with architects, clients, and contractors throughout all project phases.
- Review shop drawings, product data, and material samples for compliance with design intent and performance requirements.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction quality and resolve field issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and new technologies in façade engineering.
- Contribute to project proposals and presentations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in façade engineering or building enclosure design.
- Proficiency with engineering analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, THERM, WUFI, finite element analysis tools).
- Strong understanding of building physics, structural mechanics, and material science related to façades.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards (e.g., ASTM, AAMA, IBC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and high-performance building envelopes.
- Experience with parametric design tools.
- Familiarity with various façade materials and fabrication processes.
- Experience on projects involving seismic design considerations for façades.
