Job Description
Are you ready to embark on a unique career journey? Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our crew as a Ferry Deck Sweeper. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in a clean environment, and is eager to learn the ropes of maritime operations. No prior experience is required; we provide full training to ensure your success. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our vessels, ensuring a pleasant experience for thousands of passengers daily while enjoying spectacular views of London from the water.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning of all passenger decks and common areas.
- Ensure all waste bins are emptied and maintained throughout the vessel's operational hours.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly to the highest standards.
- Assist in the setup and stowage of deck equipment as required.
- Report any maintenance issues, spills, or hazards to the senior crew immediately.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Provide basic assistance and directions to passengers as needed, embodying our commitment to excellent service.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety drills.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and lifting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Basic communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a customer service environment (e.g., retail, hospitality).
