Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable individual to join our lighting crew as a Film Set Cable Dragger for an upcoming project. This is a crucial entry-level role on set, providing essential support to the gaffers and grips by managing the extensive cabling required for lighting setups. This role demands significant physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work long and irregular hours. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get hands-on experience in the film industry and learn the ropes from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unspool, lay, and coil various types of electrical cables and power distribution lines on set.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of lighting fixtures, stands, and grip equipment.
- Ensure all cables are safely managed, taped down, and clear of traffic areas to prevent hazards.
- Support the gaffer and best boy electric with general tasks as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on and around the set.
- Be prepared for physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Adhere strictly to all on-set safety protocols and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for long workdays.
- Excellent ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of film set etiquette and terminology.
