Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Fintech Software Developer to join our innovative team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions for financial applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them where appropriate.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Go, Node.js).
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the financial services industry or with fintech products.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) for full-stack development roles.
- Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
