Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and resilient individual to join our team as a Fire Communications Officer. This is an immediate hire, critical response role where you will be the first point of contact for the public in times of emergency. Working within our fast-paced control room, you will handle incoming emergency calls, gather crucial information, and dispatch fire resources accurately and efficiently. Full comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to manage the demands of this vital position. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and accurately process emergency calls from the public and partner agencies.
  • Utilise sophisticated CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems to log incidents and dispatch appropriate fire and rescue resources.
  • Provide clear, concise, and reassuring instructions to callers during emergencies.
  • Monitor the movement and status of fire appliances and personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents and communications.
  • Liaise effectively with other emergency services and external agencies.
  • Adhere to all operational procedures and protocols to ensure public and responder safety.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
