Job Description

IKEA in Footscray is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Flat Pack Assembler to join our Casual Retail Support team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy practical work, have an eye for detail, and are eager to contribute to a vibrant retail environment. As a Flat Pack Assembler and Casual Retail Support, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our store is well-presented and our customers have access to ready-to-view products. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assemble flat-pack furniture and display units according to IKEA instructions and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining the visual merchandising standards of the store, ensuring products are displayed correctly and attractively.
- Provide friendly and helpful support to customers, answering basic product questions and directing them as needed.
- Organise and maintain the assembly area, ensuring it is clean, safe, and efficient.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies during assembly and store operations.
- Assist with general retail support tasks as required, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Required Skills
- Basic proficiency with common hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hammers, Allen keys).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex assembly instructions precisely.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and handling furniture components.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage flexible work schedules.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Basic communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in assembly, retail, or a similar hands-on role is a plus, but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, as required by business needs.
