Job Description
Are you a reliable and detail-oriented individual looking for a stable night shift role? Yodel in Dewsbury is seeking a Fleet Vehicle Fueler to join our team. This is an essential on-site position responsible for ensuring our extensive fleet of company vehicles is fueled and ready for daily operations. You will primarily work during the night, topping up fuel tanks, performing basic checks, and maintaining accurate records. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic who is keen to learn and contribute to a critical part of our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately fuel company vehicles (vans, trucks) according to operational schedules during night shifts.
- Perform visual checks on vehicle fluid levels (oil, coolant, screenwash) and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure fuel pumps and equipment are maintained and kept clean.
- Maintain precise records of fuel consumption and vehicle mileage.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly regarding fuel handling.
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues discovered during fueling.
- Assist with general yard duties and vehicle movements as required, following safety protocols.
- Work autonomously and as part of a small team during night operations.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for night shift work.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures diligently.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for logging data.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform manual tasks.
- Valid UK driving license.
- A proactive and responsible attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics, transport, or outdoor operational environment (even if not direct fueling).
- Basic understanding of vehicle safety checks.
