Job Description
Join the dedicated team at Medirest as a Food Service Assistant within our hospital and aged care facilities in Werribee. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about making a difference through excellent food service. You will play a vital role in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious and appealing meals, contributing to their recovery and quality of life. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in a similar role is necessary – just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and plating of meals according to dietary requirements and menu specifications.
- Serve meals and beverages to patients and residents in dining areas or directly to rooms, ensuring a friendly and respectful approach.
- Collect and clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation.
- Restock food service areas, fridges, and pantries as required, monitoring stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, residents, visitors, and staff regarding meal service and dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role (non-essential).
- Current Food Safety Certificate (e.g., Level 1) or willingness to obtain one.
- Understanding of dietary requirements and allergies.
