Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and energetic individuals to join our team as Freight Handlers for the evening shift in our Byron Bay depot. This is a crucial role within our logistics operations, ensuring that freight is processed efficiently and accurately, ready for dispatch or collection. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload freight from vehicles, containers, and trailers.
  • Sort and stage freight according to destination, size, and type.
  • Operate manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys.
  • Scan and document freight movements using handheld scanners and internal systems.
  • Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet operational deadlines.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift heavy items repeatedly (up to 25kg).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
  • Current forklift license (LF/LO) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Understanding of manual handling best practices.
