Job Description
We are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to join our team as Frozen Food Packers in our Cairns distribution center. This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity offering premium chilled rates for the right candidates. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that frozen food products are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for dispatch, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and efficiency. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals keen to start or advance their career in logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack frozen food items according to order specifications.
- Operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment safely (training provided).
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the cold storage area.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and OHS policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and safely in a cold storage environment (freezer/chiller).
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move packages up to 20kg repetitively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and completing paperwork.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment.
- Current forklift license (LF or LO) or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of HACCP or other food safety protocols.
- First Aid certificate.
