Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner (GP) to join our esteemed team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care, managing a diverse caseload and contributing to our clinic’s reputation for excellence. This role involves comprehensive primary care duties, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions, health promotion, and disease prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient consultations, examinations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Prescribe medication and refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Manage patient medical records accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide health education and preventative care advice.
  • Participate in clinical audits and continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Adhere to all relevant medical guidelines, policies, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
  • GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Inclusion in the GP Register (CCT or equivalent).
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic patient record systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
  • Experience with specific clinical areas such as minor surgery, women's health, or mental health.
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications or diplomas in relevant fields.
  • Experience working in a private practice setting.
