Job Description

Join the dedicated team at Ivinson Memorial Hospital as a Hospital Patient Transporter. This is a vital and active role, integral to the smooth operation of our hospital and the comfort of our patients. We are seeking an immediate hire to ensure the safe, efficient, and compassionate movement of patients throughout our facility. In this role, you will be on the front lines, providing essential support to patients and clinical staff alike. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of patient transport and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or hospital beds to and from various hospital departments, including patient rooms, diagnostic areas, and procedure units.
• Assist patients with transfers to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
• Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, visitors, and all hospital staff.
• Verify patient identification and transport instructions with nursing staff before and after each transport.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including fall precautions.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages promptly.
• Respond promptly and efficiently to transport requests, prioritizing critical and urgent needs.
• Adhere to strict infection control guidelines, including hand hygiene and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment within the transport department.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in a customer service role or a fast-paced environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
