Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Immigration Support Officer to join our team within the Department of Home Affairs in Gungahlin, ACT. In this crucial role, you will provide administrative and operational support across various immigration processes, ensuring compliance with Australian immigration law and policies. You will be responsible for handling inquiries, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records, contributing to the efficient delivery of immigration services to the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information and assistance to clients regarding immigration processes, policies, and requirements.
- Process and review immigration applications, ensuring completeness and compliance with guidelines.
- Maintain and update client records and case files with precision and confidentiality.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, correspondence, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and streamline workflows.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and legal frameworks.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Australian Citizenship (essential for security clearance).
