Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Industrial Ecologist with a corporate focus to join our dynamic team in Ballarat. This role involves integrating ecological principles into corporate strategy, conducting comprehensive environmental assessments, and advising clients on sustainable development practices. You will play a key role in helping our diverse client base achieve their environmental goals and enhance their sustainability performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed lifecycle assessments (LCAs) for products, processes, and services.
- Develop and implement strategies for material flow analysis, industrial symbiosis, and circular economy principles.
- Advise corporate clients on environmental regulatory compliance, risk management, and best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, sustainability frameworks, and policy recommendations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ecological considerations into project planning and execution.
- Research and apply emerging trends and technologies in industrial ecology and sustainable resource management.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience applying industrial ecology principles in a professional setting.
- Proficiency with LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, openLCA).
- Strong data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Industrial Ecology, Environmental Science, Sustainable Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., LEED AP, ISCC).
- Experience working with diverse industries such as manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
