Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Surveyor or Geomatics Engineer to join our dynamic team in Reno, Nevada, through the Skilled Worker Route. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to contribute to significant infrastructure and land development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various types of land surveys, managing geospatial data, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all survey-related aspects of our projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, applying advanced surveying techniques and technology to deliver high-quality results. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex land surveys, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and LiDAR scanners.
  • Process and analyze geospatial data using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS).
  • Prepare survey plats, legal descriptions, and survey reports in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage project data, ensuring accuracy, organization, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, designers, and clients to interpret project requirements and provide surveying expertise.
  • Conduct field reconnaissance and research historical survey records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies on all field and office tasks.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in land surveying or geomatics engineering.
  • Proficiency with surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, levels).
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar survey processing software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal surveying regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in Nevada or a reciprocal state.
  • Experience with LiDAR scanning and point cloud processing.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Experience with aerial mapping or drone technology.
  • Master's degree in Geomatics or a related discipline.
