Job Description
Join the Target team as a Loading Dock Assistant in our Glendale, AZ distribution center! We’re seeking motivated and reliable individuals to ensure the efficient flow of merchandise. This crucial role involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining an organized dock area, and supporting our supply chain operations. Enjoy the benefit of early morning shifts, allowing you to finish your workday by noon and providing ample time for personal pursuits. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers using appropriate manual and powered equipment.
- Sort, stage, and organize products for distribution or storage, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests, invoices, or electronic records.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and electric jacks, following all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment on the loading dock and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability, especially for early morning shifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop frequently throughout the shift.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or loading dock environment.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management concepts.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
