Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Operations Lead to join our dynamic team in Jersey City. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational execution of logistics processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and exceptional service delivery. You will lead a dedicated team, implement best practices, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize supply chain performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of global logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators and specialists, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the end-to-end operational execution of transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and procurement teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international and domestic shipping regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize advanced logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and optimize routes.
- Provide regular reports and insights on operational performance to senior management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing complex logistics processes.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., TMS, WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Experience with lean methodologies or Six Sigma certification.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Bilingual proficiency in a relevant language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin).
- Experience working with global logistics providers or freight forwarders.
