Job Description
Join Quest Diagnostics as a Medical Sample Courier and play a vital role in our mission to provide critical diagnostic insights. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable individual to transport medical samples, supplies, and reports safely and efficiently between our labs, patient service centers, and client facilities within the Jersey City and surrounding New Jersey areas. A company vehicle will be provided for your routes, and maintaining a clean driving record is paramount for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical samples, specimens, supplies, and reports according to established routes and schedules.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations and company safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries, ensuring proper chain of custody for all samples.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure the integrity and proper handling of all specimens, including temperature control as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and client personnel.
- Represent Quest Diagnostics professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations or accidents in the past 3-5 years).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and sit/drive for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a courier, particularly in a medical or laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with local New Jersey roadways and traffic patterns.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling protocols.
