Job Description

Primark is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Merchandise Design & Production Intern to join our team in Motherwell. This is an unparalleled opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience across the entire merchandise lifecycle, from initial design concepts to final product delivery. You will work closely with our experienced design and production teams, learning valuable skills and contributing to the creation of exciting new products. No prior professional experience is required; we are looking for individuals with a keen interest, a willingness to learn, and a creative spark. Full training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior designers in conceptualizing and developing new merchandise collections.
- Support the production team with sample management, quality control checks, and supplier communication.
- Conduct market research on current trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences.
- Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and technical specifications.
- Contribute to the selection of materials, trims, and finishes, considering cost and sustainability.
- Help maintain product databases and ensure accurate documentation throughout the production process.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, offering fresh perspectives and ideas.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for fashion, design, and retail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Basic proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus, but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- No prior professional experience required; enthusiasm is key.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Textile Design, Merchandising, or a related creative field.
