Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in the mining services industry? Downer Group is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Mining Camp Utility. This full-time role offers an incredible chance to gain valuable experience in a dynamic remote camp environment with fly-in fly-out (FIFO) potential. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success. You will be a vital part of our camp operations, assisting with various tasks to ensure the comfort and well-being of our mining personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties within the camp facilities, including accommodation, dining areas, and communal spaces.
- Assist with kitchen and dining room operations, including food preparation support, dishwashing, and serving meals.
- Handle waste management and recycling tasks in accordance with site procedures.
- Support logistics and inventory management, including receiving and stocking supplies.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Provide general assistance to camp residents and staff as required.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Participate in mandatory safety briefings and training sessions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
- Current Driver's License (manual preferred).
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, cleaning, or a remote work setting (not essential but beneficial).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Food Safety Certificate.
