Job Description
Are you looking for a rewarding physical role with immediate start and weekly pay? Pickfords, the UK’s leading removals company, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Movers / General Labourers in Newcastle upon Tyne. No previous experience is required – we provide full, comprehensive training to all new team members. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload household and office furniture onto removal vehicles.
- Handle items with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Pack and unpack personal belongings and delicate items using appropriate materials.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required.
- Manoeuvre heavy and bulky items through various spaces, including stairs and doorways.
- Assist with general labour tasks on-site, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete jobs within set timelines.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
- Punctual and dependable.
- No prior experience required – full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- A clean UK driving license (desirable but not essential for this role).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (beneficial but not required).
- Basic knowledge of tools for furniture assembly/disassembly (will be taught).
