Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Night Porter to join our esteemed team at The Magdalen Chapter Hotel. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for hospitality. As a Night Porter, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests during the overnight hours, acting as the primary point of contact for all guest needs. You will be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises, assisting with guest requests, and preparing the hotel for the day ahead. Full training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for this crucial role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular security patrols and checks throughout the hotel premises, ensuring all access points are secure.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond promptly to any alarms or unusual activities.
- Handle late guest check-ins and early check-outs efficiently and courteously.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and provide accurate information about hotel services and local attractions.
- Respond to and resolve guest inquiries, requests, and minor issues, escalating complex problems to management.
- Prepare meeting rooms, breakfast areas, and other public spaces for the following day's operations.
- Conduct night audit procedures, including processing financial transactions and preparing reports.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of reception, lobby, and other public areas during quiet periods.
- Distribute newspapers and other amenities to guest rooms as required.
- Handle emergency situations with professionalism and follow established safety protocols.

- Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or security-related role.
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS).
