Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Prescriber to join our dynamic team in Leeds. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, including independent prescribing, to a diverse patient population. You will work autonomously within your scope of practice, contributing to the delivery of outstanding healthcare outcomes. This position requires a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to the highest standards of clinical governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments and consultations for patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
- Independently prescribe appropriate medications and treatments in accordance with Bupa policies, national guidelines, and NMC standards.
- Formulate and implement care plans, evaluating their effectiveness and adjusting as necessary.
- Provide health education and promotion, empowering patients to manage their own health effectively.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records using electronic systems.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, consultants, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, risk management, and service improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all relevant clinical policies, procedures, and professional codes of conduct.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered General Nurse.
- Independent Nurse Prescriber V300 qualification.
- Demonstrable post-registration experience in a primary care or general practice setting.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough clinical assessments and make sound diagnostic judgements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultation skills.
- Proficiency in electronic patient record systems.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific specialist areas such as women's health, minor illness, or long-term condition management.
- Advanced physical assessment skills.
- Experience working within a private healthcare setting.
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
