Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Oil Rig Deck Swabber, an essential role in maintaining the operational integrity and safety of offshore platforms. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals seeking a challenging and rewarding career in an extreme environment. You will be responsible for rigorous cleaning and maintenance tasks on the rig deck, ensuring a safe and compliant workspace. No prior offshore experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and safety certifications to excel in this demanding field. This role demands exceptional physical fitness, a strong work ethic, and unwavering attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and degreasing of oil rig decks, equipment, and associated areas.
- Operate high-pressure cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Handle and dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of cleaning equipment and tools.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all offshore safety protocols, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a challenging and confined offshore environment.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in an extreme, often harsh, offshore environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and adhere to strict safety guidelines.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety briefings.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive medical examination and drug/alcohol screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in physically demanding roles (e.g., construction, manufacturing, manual labor).
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Valid offshore survival certificates (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, MIST) – training can be provided if not held.
