Job Description
Are you a natural at fostering positive conversations and creating welcoming spaces online? WebSphere Community Management Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Online Forum Community Guide to join our remote team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a digital environment, enjoy interacting with people, and are available for weekend and evening shifts. As a Community Guide, you will be the friendly face (or text!) of our clients’ online forums, ensuring a healthy, engaging, and compliant atmosphere. No prior experience in community management is required; we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and moderate online forum discussions during assigned weekend and evening shifts.
- Respond to user inquiries, comments, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Encourage positive interaction and engagement among community members.
- Enforce community guidelines and policies consistently and fairly.
- Identify and escalate complex issues or violations to senior community managers.
- Contribute to the development of engaging content ideas and community initiatives.
- Provide regular feedback on community trends, sentiment, and user behavior.
- Collaborate with a remote team to ensure seamless community operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills in English (French bilingualism is an asset)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
- High level of empathy and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and internet navigation
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet home office environment
- Availability to work weekend and evening shifts as scheduled
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with various online forum platforms (e.g., vBulletin, Discourse, Reddit)
- Experience participating in online communities or moderating personal social media groups
- A passion for online communities and digital engagement
