Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our thriving practice in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full scope of optometric care, including comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, prescription of corrective lenses, and patient education. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose vision problems.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and proper use of corrective lenses.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an Optometrist in Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using modern optometric equipment and technology.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with the Canadian healthcare system.
- Experience in a multi-cultural patient setting.
