Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon to join our esteemed medical team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and providing surgical care for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements, arthroscopy, and trauma surgery.
- Diagnose and treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care, including follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthetists, nurses, and physical therapists.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and continuous professional development.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and relevant clinical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice in Orthopedic Surgery (or eligibility for specialist registration)
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Orth) or equivalent international qualification
- Proven experience in a broad range of orthopedic surgical techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Sub-specialty interest in a specific area of orthopedics (e.g., spine, hand, foot & ankle)
- Experience in a private healthcare setting
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Participation in clinical research
