Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Pallet Repair Handyman to join our team in Saskatoon. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for inspecting, sorting, and repairing wooden pallets to ensure they meet quality standards for re-entry into our supply chain. This involves using various hand and power tools, primarily hammers, nail guns, and saws, to replace broken boards, reinforce structures, and maintain the integrity of our pallet inventory. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming pallets for damage and assess repair needs.
- Perform repairs on damaged wooden pallets using hammers, nail guns, saws, and other relevant tools.
- Replace broken or missing boards, blocks, and stringers accurately and efficiently.
- Reinforce weak points and ensure the structural integrity of repaired pallets.
- Sort repaired pallets according to type and designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate power tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, pry bars, and measuring tapes.
- Basic knowledge of power tools, including nail guns and saws.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control of repaired pallets.
- Commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Experience with pallet repair or general woodworking/carpentry.
- Forklift certification (an asset, but not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
