Job Description
Gateley PLC is excited to offer an invaluable Paralegal & Legal Studies Intern opportunity in our Nottingham office. This internship is specifically designed for ambitious students or recent graduates of legal studies programs who are eager to gain direct, practical experience within a dynamic law firm environment. You will work alongside experienced legal professionals, contributing to real cases and projects, and developing a foundational understanding of legal practice. Key Responsibilities
- Assist fee earners and paralegals with legal research and analysis.
- Prepare and organize legal documents, briefs, and correspondence.
- Manage and update case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
- Support the team in client communication, including drafting emails and preparing meeting materials.
- Conduct due diligence and data room management.
- Attend client meetings, court hearings, and internal team meetings to observe and learn.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the legal department.
- Contribute to various ad-hoc projects as required by the legal team.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field (e.g., LLB, GDL, LPC, CILEX).
- Strong academic record and a keen interest in the legal sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
