Job Description
Join the General Mills team in Sioux Falls, SD, as a Pasta Manufacturing Machine Operator. We are seeking dedicated individuals to contribute to our indoor food production facility, ensuring the highest quality pasta products for our consumers. This full-time, on-site position offers comprehensive training and is an integral part of our manufacturing process, focusing on precision, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor pasta manufacturing equipment, including mixers, extruders, dryers, and packaging machines.
- Perform routine checks on machinery to ensure proper functioning and identify any potential issues.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Conduct quality control checks on pasta products throughout the manufacturing process, adhering to strict specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures.
- Load raw materials into machinery and manage material flow on the production line.
- Record production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all workplace safety policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.
Required Skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or food processing environment.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards.
- Experience with quality control processes in a production setting.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
