Job Description

As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital part in the smooth operation of our hospitals, ensuring patients are moved safely and comfortably between departments for appointments, procedures, and discharge. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and compassionately transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to and from various hospital departments (e.g., X-ray, MRI, Operating Room, wards) according to established schedules and urgent requests.
- Assist patients with transferring to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, their families, and hospital staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages promptly.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, patient confidentiality (GDPR), and safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly to dispatch requests and manage time efficiently to ensure timely patient movements.
- Provide basic comfort and reassurance to patients during transport.
- Follow all instructions from nursing staff and department coordinators regarding patient transport needs.
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and colleagues.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Physical stamina to push and pull patients in wheelchairs/stretchers, and lift/transfer patients with assistance, multiple times a day.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Commitment to patient safety and excellent customer service.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- No specific qualifications required; full training will be provided.
- Prior experience in a customer service role is a plus, but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial but can be learned on the job.
