Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Physical Therapy Aide and play a vital role in supporting our physical therapists and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in healthcare. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe treatment environment, assisting patients as needed, and supporting the overall operations of our physical therapy department. Full training will be provided to help you succeed in this role, no prior experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas for patient use, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and organized.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize physical therapy equipment, treatment tables, and exercise areas after each patient use, following strict hygiene protocols.
- Assist physical therapists with patient care, including helping patients transfer on and off equipment, positioning for exercises, and guiding them through basic movements.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and alert staff when reordering is necessary.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records as directed.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized environment, contributing to a positive patient experience.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and patient confidentiality regulations.
- Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients during their rehabilitation journey.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to listen attentively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency for administrative tasks.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and assist patients with movement.
- A compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- No prior experience required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained after hire).
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- A genuine interest in health sciences or a career in physical therapy.
