Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Pothole Repair Crew Member to join our Public Works team. This is an essential role in maintaining the safety and integrity of Abbotsford’s road network. As part of our roadworks crew, you will be responsible for the repair of potholes and other minor road surface defects, contributing directly to the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of our community. Full training will be provided for all tasks and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the repair of potholes using various materials and techniques, including asphalt patching.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with traffic control measures at job sites to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks.
- Perform general labour duties as assigned to support road maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, labor, or road maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of road construction materials and methods.
- First Aid certification.
