Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Power BI Analyst to join our dynamic data and analytics team. In this hybrid role based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, you will be instrumental in transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that empower various business units to make informed decisions, identify trends, and improve performance across our extensive retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize robust Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business needs.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using Power Query from various data sources.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and compelling data visualizations.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify key trends, patterns, and insights that drive business value.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting and analytical solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, IT, and other data professionals.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and generated reports.
- Stay current with the latest Power BI features, industry best practices, and data visualization techniques.
- Document technical specifications, data dictionaries, and reporting processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Power BI Analyst or in a similar data analysis role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, including DAX and M-Query.
- Expertise in data modeling, data visualization, and dashboard design principles.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and advanced SQL for data querying.
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with other Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
- Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics).
- Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Previous experience within the retail industry.
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate certification.
