Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Pricing & Promotion Analytics Intern to join our retail team in Corner Brook, NL. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of retail analytics, contributing to strategic pricing and promotional initiatives. You will work closely with experienced professionals, helping to analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and customer behavior to inform pricing decisions and evaluate promotional effectiveness. This role is ideal for students looking to apply their analytical skills in a real-world business context and gain valuable insights into the retail industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets related to sales, pricing, and promotions.
- Support the development of reports and dashboards to visualize key pricing and promotional performance metrics.
- Conduct preliminary research on market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer demand.
- Help evaluate the effectiveness of various promotional campaigns and provide insights for future strategies.
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and finance teams to understand business needs and data requirements.
- Prepare presentations and summaries of analytical findings for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to ad-hoc analytical projects as needed to support business objectives.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
