Job Description
Imperial College London invites applications for the position of Professor. We are seeking an exceptional academic leader with a distinguished record of research, a passion for innovative teaching, and a commitment to fostering the next generation of scholars. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct world-class research, secure significant external funding, teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise doctoral students, and contribute to the academic and strategic leadership of their department and the wider university.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an independent, internationally recognized research program.
- Publish high-impact research in leading academic journals and present at international conferences.
- Secure substantial research grants and external funding.
- Teach and convene courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, inspiring and mentoring students.
- Supervise PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and junior faculty members.
- Contribute to the strategic planning, administration, and leadership of the department and faculty.
- Engage in public outreach and knowledge transfer activities, demonstrating the impact of research.
- Participate in university committees and professional service.
Required Skills
- PhD in a relevant academic discipline.
- Extensive record of high-quality research publications commensurate with a Professorial appointment.
- Demonstrable success in securing significant competitive research funding.
- Proven excellence in university-level teaching and curriculum development.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
