Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist to join our growing private practice. This role is open to both Provisional and General Psychologists eager to make a significant impact on mental health outcomes in our community. As a Provisional Psychologist, you will receive exceptional supervision and support to complete your registration pathway. As a General Psychologist, you will have the autonomy to manage your caseload while benefiting from a collegial team environment. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy to a diverse range of clients presenting with various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship issues. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate treatment plans.
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-based interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure holistic client care.
- Engage in regular supervision and professional development activities (especially for Provisional Psychologists).
- Contribute positively to a supportive and ethical practice environment.
- Adhere to professional ethical guidelines and practice standards set by AHPRA and the APS.
Required Skills
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Provisional or General Psychologist (or eligible for immediate provisional registration).
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based psychological therapies (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse client population.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines.
- Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a private practice setting.
- Familiarity with Medicare Better Access provisions.
- Experience with a range of therapeutic modalities beyond core CBT (e.g., EMDR, Schema Therapy).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a varied caseload independently (for General Psychologists).
- Experience working with regional or remote communities.
