Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Public Lands Groundskeeper and play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of Tulsa’s cherished public parks and recreational areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding.
  • Maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, and park facilities to ensure safety and usability.
  • Plant, cultivate, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of groundskeeping equipment suchately and safely, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
  • Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repairs.
  • Remove litter and debris from park grounds and facilities.
  • Perform minor repairs on park benches, picnic tables, and other park amenities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
  • Report any hazards, damage, or maintenance needs to supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high-quality public spaces.
  • Basic understanding of groundskeeping principles or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and learn to operate power equipment safely.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., commercial mowers, string trimmers).
  • Knowledge of basic horticulture or landscaping techniques.
  • Experience working in a public park or similar outdoor setting.
