Job Description
Are you eager to launch a career in an innovative field with a tangible impact on public infrastructure? NEORSD is seeking a Public Utilities Drone Pilot Trainee to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with no prior drone piloting experience, offering comprehensive training to become a skilled drone operator specializing in aerial surveying for utility infrastructure. You will learn to utilize cutting-edge drone technology for inspection, mapping, and data collection across various public utility assets, contributing directly to the efficiency and safety of our operations. We provide all necessary training, including preparation for FAA Part 107 certification. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all phases of the comprehensive drone pilot training program, including theoretical instruction and practical flight sessions.
- Learn to operate various drone platforms safely and effectively under direct supervision.
- Assist in pre-flight planning, including site assessment, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance checks.
- Support aerial data collection missions for utility infrastructure inspection, surveying, and mapping.
- Learn to process and manage collected aerial imagery and data using specialized software.
- Maintain drone equipment, batteries, and accessories in accordance with operational guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, FAA regulations, and company policies.
- Document flight logs, mission details, and any observed anomalies during operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and environmental teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies and complex procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with technology.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational guidelines.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with mapping software or GIS is a plus, but not required.
- Enthusiasm for aviation or remote sensing technology.
- Ability to complete tasks both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
