Job Description

SaskTel is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Remote Subtitle & Caption Writers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the accessibility of our video content for a diverse audience. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing spoken dialogue and audio cues from various video materials into clear, concise, and properly synchronized captions and subtitles.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio content from a variety of video materials.
- Create precise and synchronized captions and subtitles, adhering to established style guides and accessibility standards.
- Ensure all written content is free of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation inaccuracies.
- Review and edit your own work diligently to maintain high quality and accuracy.
- Manage your workload efficiently to meet project deadlines and turnaround times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all content handled.
- Utilize company-provided tools and software for captioning tasks.
Required Skills
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong typing speed and accuracy.
- High level of attention to detail and a keen eye for discrepancies.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort navigating online platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain focus in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workspace.
- No prior experience required – comprehensive training will be provided to all successful candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with different types of media content (e.g., news, entertainment, educational).
