Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Reservoir & Dam Maintenance Assistant to join our Public Works team. This is a secure government position offering stability, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to learn critical infrastructure maintenance skills. As an Assistant, you will work under direct supervision, assisting experienced technicians and engineers in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of dams, reservoirs, and related facilities. Full training will be provided to ensure you gain the necessary knowledge and skills for success in this vital role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in routine inspections of dam structures, reservoir areas, and associated equipment for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including clearing debris, vegetation control, minor repairs, and painting.
- Support skilled technicians in conducting repairs on concrete, metal, and mechanical components.
- Monitor water levels, pressure gauges, and other instrumentation as instructed.
- Document maintenance activities, observations, and readings accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and departmental procedures.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Participate in emergency response drills and actual responses as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work sites and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
