Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Roofing Labourer to join our growing team in Bundaberg. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are reliable, and committed to safety. As a Roofing Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our experienced roofing professionals on various projects, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality outcomes. Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, and comprehensive on-the-job training will be given.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified roofers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems.
- Safely load, unload, and transport roofing materials and equipment to and from work sites.
- Prepare work areas by setting up scaffolding, safety barriers, and ensuring site cleanliness.
- Perform general site cleanup and maintain an organised work environment.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of provided PPE.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
- Assist with ground support, material handling, and other tasks as directed by the site supervisor.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 25kg) and perform demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights (with appropriate safety measures).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current 'White Card' (Construction Induction Card).
- Valid Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
- Previous experience in a general labourer or construction assistant role is highly regarded but not essential.
- First Aid certification.
