Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scaffolding Supervisor to join our dynamic team in London. This is a crucial role responsible for overseeing all scaffolding operations on various construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and timelines. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing scaffolding teams, maintaining equipment, and fostering a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily scaffolding operations on site.
- Ensure all scaffolding structures are erected, altered, and dismantled safely and efficiently, in accordance with design specifications and relevant regulations (e.g., SG4:15, TG20:13).
- Conduct regular inspections of scaffolding structures to identify and rectify any defects or hazards.
- Lead and mentor a team of scaffolders, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with project managers, site managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project progression.
- Maintain accurate records of scaffolding activities, including inspections, material usage, and personnel.
- Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on site.
- Manage scaffolding equipment, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and allocation.
- Participate in site safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Scaffolding Supervisor or Lead Scaffolder.
- Valid CISRS Supervisor card (or equivalent international certification).
- In-depth knowledge of scaffolding regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret scaffolding designs and technical drawings.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced CISRS qualifications (e.g., Advanced Scaffolder).
- First Aid certification.
- IPAF or PASMA certification.
- Experience with various types of scaffolding systems (e.g., Cuplock, Ringlock, Kwikstage).
- Relevant NVQ or vocational qualifications in scaffolding.
