Job Description
Kingscliff Public School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-time School Hours Cleaner to join our facilities team. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our school premises, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will work during school hours, making it an ideal position for those seeking flexible daytime work. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident in all aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and dusting surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
- Empty rubbish bins and transport waste to designated areas.
- Clean and disinfect common areas, classrooms, offices, and staff rooms.
- Replenish soap, paper towels, and other consumables as required.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or faulty equipment to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and school policies.
- Support the setup and pack down of school events as needed.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe application (training provided).

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably within a school or commercial environment.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations or similar safety standards.
