Job Description

Chubb Australia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Security Technician specializing in alarm systems to join our team in Carnarvon, Western Australia. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, service, and troubleshooting of a variety of electronic security alarm systems for commercial and residential clients. The ideal candidate will possess a current security license, strong technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You will work independently and as part of a broader team, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, and commission electronic alarm systems, including intrusion detection, access control, and CCTV.
  • Perform routine maintenance, preventative checks, and system upgrades on existing security installations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in alarm systems, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to clients.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical advice on security system solutions to clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports, timesheets, and inventory.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies, as well as relevant Australian standards and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical details clearly and professionally.
  • Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours emergency service when required.

Required Skills

  • Current Western Australian Security Installer/Maintainer License (Crowd Control Agent or Security Officer is not sufficient).
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in the installation and servicing of electronic alarm systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals.
  • Commitment to OHS standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Electrotechnology or a related field.
  • Experience with specific alarm brands (e.g., Bosch, Hikvision, Inner Range, Tecom).
  • Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals as they relate to security systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
