Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team, specializing in supporting individuals with learning disabilities. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing personalized care plans, leading a small team of support workers, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. Your expertise will contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of life for the individuals we serve, promoting their independence, and facilitating their integration within the community. This full-time, on-site position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a profound difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of support workers, providing guidance and supervision.
- Develop, review, and implement individualized support plans tailored to the needs and aspirations of individuals with learning disabilities.
- Provide direct personal care and support, including assistance with daily living activities, medication management, and promoting personal hygiene.
- Organize and facilitate engaging community activities, educational pursuits, and recreational outings.
- Act as a primary point of contact for families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a support worker role, specifically with individuals with learning disabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid and Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience with challenging behaviors and crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with local community resources and advocacy services in Roswell, GA.
