Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team in Bathurst, NSW. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator to make a significant impact on students’ lives, with full support for a Skilled Worker Visa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), providing tailored instruction, and collaborating with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students with diverse learning needs. You will foster an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs and learning styles.
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to small groups or individual students with SEN.
- Assess student progress regularly, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic learning experience.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to meet diverse student requirements.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture and participate in professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education with a specialization in Special Education or equivalent.
- Valid teaching certification/registration in your home country (and eligibility for NESA registration in NSW).
- Proven experience working with students across a range of special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN pedagogical approaches, curriculum adaptation, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience with specific SEN diagnoses (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia).
- Knowledge of the Australian curriculum and educational standards.
- Previous experience teaching in a diverse cultural setting.
