Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Auckland. This is a unique opportunity for both local and international professionals looking to contribute their expertise to a leading private healthcare provider in New Zealand. You will provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders across various age groups and clinical settings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, and swallowing assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapy to patients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders, including neurological, developmental, and acquired conditions.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, progress reports, and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies and swallowing safety.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech and Language Pathology (or equivalent).
- Eligibility for registration with the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association (NZSTA) and/or New Zealand Ministry of Health.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills across a diverse caseload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
- Experience working with both adult and paediatric populations.
- Previous experience in a private hospital or rehabilitation setting.
- Demonstrated experience with dysphagia management.
- Cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations.
