Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Auckland. This is a unique opportunity for both local and international professionals looking to contribute their expertise to a leading private healthcare provider in New Zealand. You will provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders across various age groups and clinical settings. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, and swallowing assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Provide therapy to patients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders, including neurological, developmental, and acquired conditions.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, progress reports, and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Educate patients and families on communication strategies and swallowing safety.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech and Language Pathology (or equivalent).
  • Eligibility for registration with the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association (NZSTA) and/or New Zealand Ministry of Health.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills across a diverse caseload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Experience working with both adult and paediatric populations.
  • Previous experience in a private hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with dysphagia management.
  • Cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations.
